How do I seal slate?

There are different ways of sealing slate, the product you select may be based on the type of finish you would like and the location. The following products can all be used.

Floorseal Slate Sealer can be used on both external and internal surfaces. It will deepen surface colour and produce a sheen. Easy to apply in 2 coats to any form of slate. This product is perfect for enriching the stone’s colours and leaving a satin finish.

Floorseal Natural Stone Colour Enhancer is an impregnating colour enhancer which deepens surface colour, drying to a matt finish. It can be used on internal or external surfaces great for deepening colour but leaving a matt finish.

Floorseal Premium Impregnating Sealer is a form of impregnator but does not alter colour and leaves a matt finish. Its purpose is to protect the slate but leaves a totally unaltered finish. If you want your stone to look identical to how it appeared before sealing, we recommend this type of sealer.
