This subtle sandstone sealer has been specially formulated for sealing Indian sandstone patios and pavers. Indian Sandstone Sealer & Colour Intensifier is also suitable for other sandstones such as York sandstone, it can be used on internal floors. Exceptionally easy to apply and will create a subtle colour enriched matt finish. We highly recommend this product as an Indian stone sealer for external pavers and slabs. The sealer is water based, low odour and rapid drying. Indian sandstone often contains a large amount of colour which can be highlighted and subtly intensified. By using Floorseal Indian Sandstone Sealer & Colour Intensifier the natural colour contained within the stone will be enhanced. Indian Sandstone Sealer & Colour Intensifier seals the surface but is 100% breathable. The colour enhancing element of this sealer improves the appearance of the stone, whilst the impregnating element seals the surface.
This Indian sandstone sealers primary purpose is to enhance the natural appearance of the sandstone. It is not designed to make sandstone seem shiny or unnatural. The best way to describe this sandstone sealer is that deepens colour but dries to a subtle natural matt finish. If you like the appearance of Indian sandstone when it is slightly damp, this sealer would be the correct sealant to choose. Indian Sandstone Sealer & Colour Intensifier will slightly increase the depth of colour, highlighting the warmer tones, veining and natural shading. As this sandstone sealer is 100% breathable you will not experience any issue with trapped moisture. The sealer can be applied straight after new pavers are laid. It will never require stripping as it is not a surface coating which can become worn. Indian sandstone is very porous so readily accepts this form of impregnating sealer. The sealer has been developed to penetrate the surface quickly, easily and evenly. Apply the sealer and remove any excess product after approximately 20 – 30 minutes. After 40 minutes to an hour have elapsed since the first application you can now apply more product. You will not use as much product during this second application – remove any excess as before. A few microfibre cloths are useful for this purpose. Once sealed the attractive enhanced matt finish inhibits water and oil-based staining. It will also help to prevent efflorescence, moss, algae, and black spot on external surfaces. Indian Sandstone Sealer & Colour Intensifier creates a surface tension that reduces the need for regular maintenance. This is our most popular sandstone sealer due to its natural appearance, low odour and ease of application.

Use our Floorseal Black Spot Remover Plus prior to sealing it will remove black spot lichens.
It will be a matt, natural finish as the product is meshed into the surface of the stone. It also intensifies the natural colour contained within sandstone. Similar to dampening the stone, bringing out any natural colour but with a natural matt finish.
Yes, you could use a simple dry finish impregnator called Floorseal Natural Stone Sealer Breathe It also a breathable impregnator but does not alter the appearance of the stone.
This product is ideal when sealing Kandla Grey or plain grey sawn sandstones. Or apply to any sandstone where you do not wish to alter the appearance of the stone i.e. no change in colour.

A sealer described as a ‘wet look’ sealer is usually a form of surface sealer which might darken stone as a by-product. They will often leave a satin or gloss finish as they are a surface sealer i.e. film forming. By nature ‘wet look’ sealers are a more unnatural way of sealing stone.
Yes it can be used on internal floors. You may also wish to consider Floorseal Stone & Tile Sealer Satin as it is specifically for internal floors.
Approximately 8m2 per litre for the first application and 16m2 for the 2nd application. As a general guide 5 litres of product will cover approximately 20m2-25m2 of surface area when applied in 2 consecutive coats.
Yes its a breathable impregnating sealer. The sealer will let moisture vapour travel up from the base, through the sandstone and finally evaporate from the surface of the stone.
Yes it works best on the more colourful sandstones – the more interest there is in the stone the better it works.
To highlight, enhance or intensify colour in natural stone there needs to be some colour present in the first place. The sealer is just giving the colour a ‘push’ to make it a little more noticeable.
Colour can just be in the form of a warm red/creamy tones, vaining or just differences in colour from one slab to another.
Grey sandstone like Kandla Grey cannot be colour enhanced very well (if at all), they also do not respond well to wet look surface sealers.
We recommend applying Floorseal Natural Stone Sealer Breathe to Kandla Grey or monotone grey sandstones.
For the removal of Black Spot Lichens, dirt and general organic contaminations on external stone use Floorseal Black Spot Remover Plus.
Use Floorseal Sealer Residue Remover to prepare the surface before sealing if you have used a resin-based brush in compound.
Floorseal Cement & Grout Haze Remover is for the removal of cement based contaminations. Such as mortar, cement, concrete & slurry primers.
Yes, you could seal these types of sandstone but you will not be able to colour enhance them. This is because there is little colour contained within the stone. Kandla Grey sandstone is known o be problematic if you attempt to colour enhance.
We believe Kandla Greys and sawn plain grey sandstones are best sealed with Floorseal Natural Stone Sealer Breathe This product will seal the stone but does not alter surface colour.
We have written an article about sealing Kandla Grey and plain sandstones – see our ‘how to guides’ at the top of the page.
It simply means you apply the product once and remove any excess after 20-30 minutes. Then apply again, approximately 40 minutes to an hour after the first application.
Even if the pavers are a little damp from the first application its fine to carry out the 2nd application.
This timing does not have to be exact. But the 2nd application should (ideally) be carried out on the same day as the first. But you can seal and add more sealer on at a later date if you wish.
