Stabilising Solution is a concrete primer & sealer suitable for priming concrete floors & renders prior to painting. Perfect for concrete floors, renders, screeds, stone & brick. Stabilising Solution is to be applied undiluted in one coat, allow approximately 4 hours before over painting.

Stabilising Solution can be applied to concrete which is to be painted or overlayed with leveling compounds, screeds, resin, tiles, carpets and microtoppings/microcements.

This product is also perfect for sealing porous renders before painting with masonry paints. Please treat the surface with a fungicide such as Floorseal Green Remover Concentrate before applying this product to render.

  • Carry out a test in an inconspicuous area.
  • If you find this product is not suitable for use on your project do not continue to use.
  • For exterior surfaces remove all organic contaminations.
  • Remove any obvious loose material on the surface of the material to be sealed.
  • We recommend an application of a fungicide prior to the solution being applied, please refer to the technical data sheet.
  • Apply a single undiluted coat onto dry surfaces.
  • Apply via brush, roller or sprayer (on very porous surfaces).
  • Allow 4 hours to dry before overpainting.
  • Do not dilute.
  • Do not apply to damp surfaces or if rain is imminent (within 6 hours of application).
  • Do not apply when air temps are below 5 degrees.

Concrete primer, concrete paint primer & render sealer – rapid dry

Stabilising Solution is a water-based low odour concrete primer and render primer used to prepare surfaces prior to painting. This product is very easy to apply and dries very quickly. There is no need to dilute before use, simply apply via masonry roller or brush. When applying to very porous surfaces it is possible to spray the primer with a low-pressure pump-up sprayer, fitted with a coarse nozzle.

Rapid dry, low odour and easy to apply to concrete floors or rendered walls.

The application of Floorseal Stabilising Solution will help surfaces, which have become soft and friable, accept masonry or concrete paints. This product will improve the ability of paint to adhere to the surface.

The surface you are priming should be laitance free (you may wish to etch & clean new concrete). Treat exterior surfaces such as render with Floorseal Green Remover Concentrate which is an easy to use fungicide. After application, brushes and rollers should cleaned with warm soapy water before the primer dries on the tool. Sprayers should be rinsed out straight after use. Delivery Charges & Timescale

  1. Shipping is based on a free standard delivery service to UK mainland addresses of 4 working days.
  2. An alternative paid express delivery service of 1-2 days to UK mainland addresses is available.
  3. Our couriers do not deliver on Sundays (or bank holidays) other than by special additional arrangement (see below).
  4. Saturday deliveries are made by Parcelforce, all orders must be received by 1pm Friday. Saturday deliveries are a signed for delivery service only. There is no ‘leave safe’ option.
  5. For the Highlands and Islands (including Northern Ireland) our standard shipping time may be slower than 4-5 days and is not free.
  6. Express/Saturday shipping options to the Highlands & Islands & Northern Ireland is not available.
  7. Standard delivery is free except to the Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Orkneys, Shetlands & other UK offshore Islands.
  8. We do not dispatch orders on a Saturday or Sunday or bank holidays.
  9. We do not offer guaranteed shipping timescales.
  10. We do not deliver to the Channel Islands, or Scilly Isles.
  11. Any query over failed/missing deliveries must be made within 21 days of delivery date. Courier companies will not initiate investigations after this time.

  • How many coats of Stabilising Solution should I apply?

    One coat is to sufficient to prime most surfaces before painting, or overcoating with resin or micro topping/screeds.

  • Is Stabilising Solution water-based?

    Yes this product is water-based. Therefore it is low odour, free of solvents & VOCs.

  • What is the best method to apply the product?

    Use a masonry roller or paint brush. It is possible to spray this product when applying to very porous surfaces. It should not be allowed to pool or puddle.

  • Can this product be applied to exterior surfaces?

    Stabilising Solution can be applied to both interior surfaces, walls & floors & exterior surfaces such as render.

  • What kind of paints is Stabilising Solution compatible with?

    This product is compatible with most quality floor or render/masonry specific paints – including 2-part epoxy.

  • Does the surface need to be dry before applying this product?

    Yes, the surface should be dry before applying the product.

     

  • Are there any kinds of surface this product is not suitable for?

    Yes, highly polished reflective marble, granite or concrete. Powerfloated concrete may require etching before applying a primer and paint.

  • Does Stabilising Solution have a strong odour?

    No, Floorseal Stablising Solution does not have a strong odour as it is water-based – solvent & VOC free.

  • Can I dilute Stabilising Solution with water?

    No, this product should not be diluted with water, it is a ready to use formula. Do not dilute this product.

  • What sort of fungicide should I use prior to the application of this product?

    On exterior surfaces, such as render, we recommend applying Floorseal Green Remover Concentrate. There is no requirement to use a fungicide when applying Stabilising Solution to interior surfaces unless moulds are present.

  • How should I prepare old concrete or old renders before applying this product?

    We recommend removing obvious old flaky paints and general lose material. You can seal over older solid paints but you should remove flaking or obviously delaminating paints.

  • Can I apply Stabilising Solution to power floated concrete?

    Yes, but you may wish to acid etch power floated concrete before painting.

  • Does Stabilising Solution fill and repair cracks in render or concrete?

    No, this product is for priming the surface before painting only. It will not fill obvious cracks and holes.

  • How long does this product take to dry?

    This product will dry very rapidly – 30 minutes or less in warm conditions. We do recommend over painting it for around 4 hours though.

  • Can I overcoat Stabilising Solution with 2-part epoxy paint?

    Yes, this product can be over painted with 2-part epoxy paints.

  • Can apply two coats of this product on very porous materials?

    Yes, if the surface is highly porous applying two coats of products will be benefical.
