Breathable Brick Sealer & Waterproofer is suitable for use on external modern cavity brick walls and rubble-filled solid walls. This external brick sealer is suitable for use on listed buildings where retaining a breathable surface is paramount. This breathable sealer will leave the brick with an unaltered natural matt finish.

Breathable Brick Sealer & Waterproofer is a water-based impregnating sealer suitable for sealing exterior brickwork. Breathable Brick Sealer & Waterproofer can be applied to any porous clay-based brick, cement-based brick, natural stone & general masonry. This penetrating sealer resists rainwater penetration, UV light, carbon deposits and organic growth. Rapid drying – free from solvents & VOCs.
This highly effective brick wall sealer will last 10 years or more on exterior walls. Impregnating sealers have a greater resistance to UV light, rainwater penetration & carbon deposits than normal acrylic sealers. Impregnating sealers are superior to surface acrylic sealers which are film-forming, this film or ‘skin’ can lead to trapped moisture. Impregnating sealers cannot trap moisture and are 100% breathable.
Breathable Brick Sealer & Waterproofer is non-film forming, it does not alter the appearance of the sealed surface. The sealing polymers are deposited within the pores of the brick, thus sealing from within. Breathable Brick Sealer & Waterproofer is suitable for sealing old rubble-filled walls so appropriate for use on listed or historic buildings. But can also be applied to newly built brick walls & other structures.
The sealer is non-film forming, so cannot trap moisture and will not require stripping in the future. This form of external brick sealer can simply be reapplied if the porosity of the brick increases over time.
This product is easy to apply using a low-pressure sprayer in one generous application with a light top-up application approximately 40 minutes later. Once the sealer has been applied please redistribute any areas where the sealer may have collected or pooled within 20-30 minutes. This can be completed using a brush or roller, this ensures no sealer has been left on the surface. Very porous bricks may absorb all the sealer immediately.
Do not allow any sealer to simply dry on the surface, it should all have been absorbed into the treated surface or be removed (where present) after 20-30 minutes.
Please adjust the amount of sealer being applied based on porosity. Old Victorian clay bricks will be more porous than a modern dense house brick. Sand-blasted brick and masonry will be very porous. Very dense surfaces may not require a 2nd application, please carry out a test before any application to check the level of porosity of the material to be sealed.
This product can also be applied indoors, typically to surfaces in wet areas which cannot be sealed with our Interior Brick Sealer & Dustproofer.

Test to obtain the correct coverage rate as the coverage rate will vary depending on porosity.

Unfortunately we don’t offer a guaranteed next day service, however the majority of FREE Express packages to England, Wales & Scotland are delivered next working day, when ordered before 1pm Monday-Friday. Excludes remote locations including Cornwall and Highlands (allow 2-5 days).
When will my order be sent out?
Orders placed before 1pm (Mon-Fri) are despatched same day. Orders placed on weekends are processed the next working day.
