Sandstone Wet Look Sealer

Sandstone Wet Look Sealer can be applied to internal or external surfaces.

Yes, this product will highlight natural earthy colour & also create a silk finish on the surface.

Around 12m² per litre. Please remember you will be applying 2 thin coats to most sandstones.

This product is very easy to use, the sealer can be applied in x2 thin coats via a short/medium pile roller or preferably low pressure sprayer (for exterior use). The product dries rapidly, the 2nd coat can usually be applied approximately 2 hours after the 1st.

Floorseal Sandstone Wet Look Sealer deepens earthy colours & creates a silk finish. When applied to plain grey sandstone, it will slightly deepen the overall appearance of the stone providing a general wet look finish. Wet look finishes are easier to produce on darker or naturally colourful stone than on plain grey sandstones – test before use to ensure suitability to your sandstone. 

The sealer penetrates the stone with the 2nd coat bonding to the 1st. Thus creating a silk finish and a change in colour deep within the stone.

For the removal of black spot lichens & organic staining to older surfaces, we recommend Floorseal Black Spot Remover Plus. Cement/grout/mortar staining will be removed by Floorseal Cement & Grout Haze Remover.

Generally, pressure washing dirt and grime away from tiles is beneficial on exterior pavers. Older interior sandstone can benefit from deep cleaning with Floorseal Stone Floor Cleaner. 

Ensure all surfaces are perfectly dry before sealing work is carried out. We recommend waiting 3-5 days after any deep cleaning work has been carried out before sealing. Neutralise cleaning agents by thorough rinsing before sealing.

Sandstone Wet Look Sealer will capture some of the appearance of dampening with water. This will be to a greater or lesser extent, depending on the type/colour/texture of the individual sandstone. Typically plain grey sandstones deepen in colour less than a naturally colourful sandstone. Please test to ensure suitability.

Yes, only apply a sealing product in dry weather with adequate drying & curing time. You should not apply any type of sealer if rain is forecast. Allow 3-5 days drying time after any deep cleaning work has been carried out.

Apply in 2 thin coats applied approximately 2 hours apart. Older dense stone (or previously sealed stone) may only require one coat.

No, we do not recommend using this product in bathrooms or full wet rooms.

Solvent-based topical sealers are easy to apply with a roller & dry rapidly. Solvent-based carrying agents are more likely to deepen colour than water-based topical sealers. The sealer is applied easily via roller or sprayer. The formula is a modern lower odour, non-flammable & moisture resistant solvent formula.

Ideally you should delay sealing for approximately 4-8 weeks before sealing with a topical sealer. This should give the base time to dry and any general settlement to occur. Do not apply if salting is still occurring (after new pavers have been laid). Only apply after all salting has ceased.

Ideally a short pile masonry roller for interior work and a low pressure sprayer for exterior pavers. Work in small sections, do not walk in your work area whilst applying the product (and it is still wet).

Sandstone Wet Look Sealer is solvent-based, applied to the surface (typically) with a roller or sprayer in x2 coats. The sealer partially sinks in with a 2nd application bonding to the first which creates a silk finish. The solvent-based formula strongly deepens colour. We refer to this type of product as a topical sealer as it sits partially on top of the sandstone. This sealer is suited to colourful sandstone but also plain stone like Kandla Grey and monotone sandstone. This product is a water/stain repellent & and a strong colour enhancer.

Indian Sandstone Sealer & Colour Intensifier is water-based and can be applied via roller or sprayer in x2 applications. This product fully sinks in, and all excess product (on the surface) is removed by cloth or dry roller. The product is matt finish, it does not have a specific finish i.e. sheen. It deepens colour colour from within the stone with no visible surface change/sheen/shine. We refer to this product as an impregnating (or penetrating) sealer. This sealer is best suited to sandstone, which displays colour when dry. This sealer is not suited to plain stone like Kandla Grey or other monotone sandstones i.e plain stone. This products is also a water/stain repellent and a mild colour enhancer. You could say Indian Sandstone Sealer & Colour Intensifier has a more natural finish/appearance.

It is possible to slightly deepen the colour of Kandla grey sandstone and creates a slight sheen. It will not be possible to fully replicate the effect of saturation of water on plain grey stone like Kandla Grey. It is possible to slightly darken it and create a low sheen.
